Delete part of my data

Last updated: 6 August 2026

Closing your account isn’t the only option. Most content you post on Pambe can be deleted individually from your account without affecting the rest. This page outlines what you can delete yourself, what requires contacting us, and how long it takes for us to respond. It’s public: you don’t need to be logged in to view it.

Want to delete everything?

Deleting your account removes your login details, profile, requests, services, and conversations. It’s immediate and permanent.

Delete my account

1. What you can delete yourself

These deletions are immediate and don’t require any action on our part. Log in, then:

  • A request — go to “My Requests”, open it, and select “Delete”. Its photos, the connections it created and the conversations that followed all go with it.
  • A service — go to “My Services”, open it, and select “Delete”. Its photos and conversations go with it; reviews already received remain published but are detached from the deleted listing.
  • A photo from a request or service — open the edit form and remove the photo: the file will be erased from our storage.
  • Your profile photo — go to “My Profile” and select “Remove photo”. It will also disappear from any reviews you’ve posted.
  • A review you’ve posted, as a client or service provider — reopen the corresponding evaluation window and delete it.
  • A sent message — open the message menu and select “Delete”. Its content will no longer be displayed: it will be replaced with the note “Message deleted” for the recipient.
  • A reaction you added to a message — select the same emoji again to remove it.
  • A block — go to “My Profile”, then “Blocked users”, and unblock the person.
  • A field in your profile — clear it and save: address, phone number, bio, business details, languages, social media. The field will be erased, not replaced with an empty value. Your first and last name, however, cannot be cleared: they identify your account.
  • Your notification preferences — go to “My Profile” and uncheck the categories you’re not interested in.
  • The newsletter — use the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of each email. Your address will then be stored in a suppression list, solely to avoid further contact.
  • Your cookie consent — the “Cookie policy” page allows you to withdraw it at any time.

2. The two deletions the platform refuses

A request for which you’ve confirmed a service provider can no longer be deleted with one click, nor can a service involved in an ongoing or completed task. This restriction protects the other party: a task in progress or completed is also part of their history.

If you still need to remove this content, contact us: we’ll review the request on a case-by-case basis.

3. What requires a request on our end

  • Deleting an entire conversation retained after a task is completed.
  • Permanently erasing the text of a message you’ve already deleted: it’s no longer displayed but remains stored for moderation purposes.
  • Removing a review about you that you consider inaccurate or abusive — preferably use the “Report” button, which triggers a review.
  • Removing an unclaimed business listing.
  • Your other rights regarding your data: access, a copy in a machine-readable format, correction, restriction, and objection.

4. How to submit your request

Email us at info@pambe.be from the address linked to your account, with the subject line “Data deletion”. Specify as precisely as possible what needs to be deleted: the title of a request, the name of a service, or the date of a conversation. You can also use the contact form on the website.

We respond within one month of receipt, extendable by two months if the request is complex—we’ll let you know within the first month. We may ask you to verify your identity if the request involves sensitive data.

Deleting some of your data will never result in your account being closed: it remains usable.

5. What we must retain

Some data remains despite a deletion request, either because the law requires it or because it doesn’t belong solely to you. Details on retention periods can be found in section 9 of our privacy policy:

  • Reports and moderation measures, retained for 3 years from the decision date to handle repeat offenses and appeals.
  • Technical and security logs, retained for 12 months.
  • Accounting records and supporting documents, retained for 7 years in accordance with Belgian law.
  • Reviews left by other users, which fall under their freedom of expression and the right to inform others.
  • Messages written by your conversation partner, as these are their data as much as yours.

6. If you’re not satisfied with our response

Contact us first—most requests are resolved within a few days.

You can also file a complaint at any time with the Data Protection Authority, rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be.
